For as long as either of them can remember, Adaline and Lark have shared the same mind, though never the same body. Nor the same world. Neither of them know which one of them is real, but their lives are destined to be forever entwined by the undeniable existence of a demonic parasite that plagues the two of them. They grow up fighting with the other, attempting to keep their lives semi-normal. Until their seventeenth birthday, when what little they have falls apart.
Something is ripping into their two realities, something worse than the demon haunting them, something that threatens to unravel everything the girls could ever hope to know. Now they both have to fight tooth and nail for their lives or else they will be swallowed by the monsters that now hunt them for their very soul.
